AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who plays as an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 to 2020. Following her graduation earlier from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her debut as a professional and helped the team win the league title. Morgan was 22, at the time was the youngest player in the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team was runner-up. At the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final game against Canada. She was the second player in the U.S. to score 20 assists and 28 goals in 2012. This made her the sixth-youngest and youngest prolific player in the country to achieve 20 goals in one year. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan also helped the United States win their titles in both the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which saw her named to the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
